Where we are
Located above Factoria, on the southern side of Somerset, the two divisions of Westwood Highlands are comprised of 123 households, which have a rich neighborhood tradition dating back to the mid 1970’s. Because Westwood Highlands adjoins the neighborhood of Somerset Highlands to the north, early in the 1980’s the street that connects both neighborhoods was renamed from multiple street names to one name, Highland Drive.
Who we are
Westwood Highlands Neighborhood Association (WHNA) is a WA non-profit association by and for the owners and residents of Westwood Highlands. Our mission statement reflects our desire to foster a safe and welcoming environment, and to offer social, educational and recreational events for everyone.
We have Summer and Winter all-neighborhood events, as well as smaller groups and support of National Night Out. We have an Emergency & Disaster Preparedness (EDP) system which has been adopted by other neighborhoods and is reflected in the City of Bellevue's trainings as well. Small groups include book clubs, knitting, hiking, cooking and gardening; more are welcome any time.
Based on crime statistics, Westwood is one of the safest neighborhoods in Bellevue. Part of that comes from the care we show in taking care of our neighbors. Ethnically diverse, we find common ground in making this neighborhood one to be proud of.
Our homes are in the service area for Somerset Elementary, Tyee Middle School and Newport High School, one of the best in the state and indeed, the nation.
